Unlock Effortless Power: Adaptive Golf Tips for Mobility-Challenged Golfers

Posted on: December 1, 2025

At the Stand Up and Play Foundation, we’re passionate about making golf accessible to everyone, regardless of mobility or ability. That’s why we’re sharing these valuable tips for adaptive golfers using carts like the ParaGolfer.

Focus on Movement, Not Flexibility

You don’t need a huge backswing or perfect flexibility to hit longer, cleaner shots. It’s all about how you MOVE, not how far you turn. By focusing on your movement and technique, you can generate more power and speed with less strain.

# Driver Tips

  • Hit up, not down. Let the clubface hit the ball on the upswing.
  • Let your body rotate naturally, using your core and legs to generate power.

Use Your Body Weight

Let your heels move naturally, freeing up your hips and generating more power with less strain. This simple adjustment can help you hit longer drives and improve your overall game.

Swing Freely, Don’t Force It

Throw the club and let your body resist slightly, like a whip. Your swing will naturally arc through the ball with more speed and less effort.

Tips for Adaptive Golfers

  • Use Your Cart to Your Advantage : Position your cart to allow for a comfortable swing and take advantage of the cart’s stability.
  • Focus on Upper Body Movement: Use your arms and shoulders to generate power, rather than relying on your legs or back.
  • Take Your Time :Don’t rush your swing. Take time to set up and focus on making solid contact with the ball.

Try These Tips at the Range!

We encourage all golfers, regardless of ability, to try these tips at the range and see how they work for you. With practice and patience, you can improve your game and enjoy the freedom and joy of golf.
