Salt Lake City Chapter Receives High Praise
Stand up and Play Foundation Salt Lake City Chapter, Ben Hulin director,
My family and I would like to express our deepest gratitude for your incredible work in organizing and putting on the adaptive golf clinics at the Mick Riley golf course. The events, a partnership between the Stand Up and Play Foundation and the Salt Lake County Adaptive Recreation program, was truly a blessing.
We were especially moved by how these events helped our son, Alex Marrero. Alex’s participation in the clinics provided him with immense physical and psychological benefits. From a physical standpoint, the golf swing provided a wonderful form of exercise, engaging muscle groups that are often underutilized in his daily life. The coordinated movements required for the swing helped improve his balance, core strength, and fine motor skills.
Beyond the physical benefits, the psychological impact on Alex was profound. Being able to participate in a sport like golf, which he may have otherwise considered inaccessible, boosted his confidence and sense of accomplishment. The camaraderie and supportive environment you and your team created helped him feel included and empowered. It was a powerful reminder that with the right support and tools, a disability does not have to be a barrier to enjoying life and pursuing new interests.
Thank you again for your dedication and vision. You are truly making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities, and we are so grateful for all that you do.
Sincerely,
The Marrero Family
